Assassin’s Creed Origins: Introduction
At E3 2017, Ubisoft announced the game Assassin’s Creed Origins.
If you’ve played previous versions of the Assassin’s Creed series, you’ll notice changes which expand experiences for players. Typically, from Assassin’s Creed, Black Flag is considered to have a larger and more advanced map system than its predecessors.
Grasping the above element, Ubisoft continues to promote its advantages and applies it to the Origins version. This time, there will be new areas, caves, and new promising lands to the barren desert. Assassin’s Creed Origins’ Map will give you a look that is approximately equal to the actual ratio.
The unique transformation has left a good impression on fans of the Assassin’s Creed series in general and the professionals in particular.
- Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows
- Game genres: Action-adventure, stealth, open world
- Game mode: Single player

The Origin of The Assassins
The previous Assassin’s Creed sections, in turn, will take gamers through the ages from ancient to the future. At this time, things will reverse a bit, Assassin’s Creed Origins takes a gamer back to around 49 BC in ancient Egypt.
Assassin’s Creed Origins dates back to the history of Templar and Assassin Brotherhood. The main character, Bayek (Assassin’s Creed Origins Bayek), is considered as the founder and the originator of the Assassin Brotherhood.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is set in the downturn period of the Egyptian dynasty, under the strong influence and expansion of Roman power. It was also the era for two-faced guys, who wanted to overthrow Egypt and flatter the other faction. That was the reason why it was always a thorn in the eyes of the rulers.
He was the last surviving integrity model of the Medjay force, during Cleopatra’s reign. You will play Bayek to decipher the secrets of the haunted Egypt region and stand side by side with your allies to overthrow Roman domination.

Assassin’s Creed Origins DLCs (Downloadable Contents)
Ubisoft launched Assassin’s Creed Origins DLCs which are paid contents after releasing the main game. The Season Pass package includes two expansion packs for the storyline released in 2018, in which a DLC allows the player – as the protagonist Bayek – to fight against monsters in Egyptian mythology.
Details of Assassin’s Creed Origins DLCs:
The Hidden Ones
The extension of the plot is based on the development of the Brotherhood, bringing players to several years after the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins when they clashed with Roman forces occupying a new territory. This extension will increase the level cap, allowing players to continue developing their character.
The Curse of the Pharaohs
In this extension, the plot focuses on Egyptian mythology, players will fight against corpses of dead pharaohs and explore a new mystical dimension. In this journey, players will confront famous Egyptian beasts such as Anubis’ warriors, scorpions and more.
Players certainly have a chance to investigate causes of the curse on bringing the dead pharaohs back to life. The Curse of the Pharaohs will introduce not only new skills, but also plenty of challenges in combat.
The Roman Centurion & Horus Packs
These two exclusive add-on packages include a new outfit, weapons, shields, and mounts.
Realistic Graphic Design

Assassin’s Creed Origins faithfully portrays and perfectly reproduces the arid beauty of the desert, the ancient architecture, from bustling Alexandria to the wonder of the ancient world – Great Pyramid – with many branches of the majestic Nile… Motion effects on sand of the character are quite realistic, and the scene of splashing sand underfoot will cause hallucinations when you move out of the desert…
However, dialogue scenes between players and other characters are somewhat boring, not yet genuine because they are still emotionless persons.
Outstanding Real-time Effects
In the previous parts of this series, time will depend significantly on each mission. There are targets you must assassinate at different times of the day depending on the requests of the mission.
However, with Assassin’s Creed Origins, everything is completely different. The real-time effect will be added to the game (real-time changes), so players do not have to think much about doing missions, or to wait for the right time to assassinate. You just need to do it whenever you want without bothering timing.
The Catchy Soundtrack
Furthermore, Assassin’s Creed Origins has selected and used soundtracks ingeniously. The tracks are suitable for each different context, helping the player to imagine somewhat the ghost of ancient Egypt. Physical effects in each action are portrayed truthfully.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Gameplay
Some changes from the pure Stealth genre have now merged with a lot of action genres.
Additionally, there is fact that soldiers and the enemy’s captain now has gained their experiences and levels will increase the difficulty of playing assassination.
Skill Upgrade System: Warrior, Seer, and Hunter
There is an addition of skill upgrade system. It is divided into 3 styles including Warrior, Seer, and Hunter, which will help you easily shape your style.
Seer has 20 skills, Hunter will have 18 skills and Warrior will provide 13 skills in total, which are worth noting:
SEER:
- Hijack: Rob vehicles.
- Smoke Screen: Use smoke bombs to restrict the opponent’s view.
- Dawn & Dusk: Accelerate body speed in a short time.
- Animal Taming: Tame a certain animal by “lulling” them.
- Chariot Owner: Allow you to buy horse carriages from specialized stores.
- Backstore: Increase the rate of buying “genuine goods” from the store.
HUNTER:
- Enhanced Predator Bow: Upgrade skill to bend arrow orbit.
- Elite Ranger: Movability will slow down the time when the bow is drawn.
- Bow Fury: Increase 3 seconds slow after destroying opponents with bows.
- Hunter’s Instinct: “Mark” enemy positions when using Senu to spy.
- Arrow Retriever (passive): “Pocket” the arrows dodged on Bayek’s shield.
- Bow Bearer: Open the “slot” with the second bow.
WARRIOR:
- Overpower Ultra (passive): Double the skill damage “Overpower”.
- Charge Heavy Attack: “Put great effort” to launch a blow to heaven, it can break the opponent’s shield.
- Parry: Splash an opponent’s attack with a shield.
- Shield Charge: Blast and slap shield hard on enemy faces.
- Weapon Bearer: Open the “slot” equipped with 2nd weapon.
The Combat System

The combat system of Origins is completely redesigned.
It is not only more active, but also tougher and more challenging when performing parry instead of QTE (counterattack) as previous versions.
The maker movement and melee combat of Assassin’s Creed Origins is now placed in a fixed perspective that the character is no longer able to rotate 360 degrees in a camera angle as before, but it must depend on the rotation angle during a fight.
The combat now requires a lot of calculation, because an attack depends on a hitbox. The parry button is replaced with shield ability that offers the player to know the center of an attack and have a reasonable defense.
Senu Eagle
Assassin’s Creed Origins players will have the Senu eagle, both a pet and an indispensable companion of the player.
To activate Senu Eagle, you must complete the mission “The Oasis” (the first mission of Origins) until defeating the soldiers who attack allies at Hepzefa’s house. After successfully finishing this mission, you will be progressed to a cutscene at which acquiring your eagle companion.
When activating Senu, you will switch to the view on top (from above), making it easy for players to observe the most comprehensive area around you within a certain radius.

Senu can identify and mark important targets or simply help Bayek capture the location of the enemy for assassination missions. In addition, Senu will also promote his ability during players’ hunt by destroying random hunting targets.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Papyri
There are 25 papyrus scrolls. They have been tucked around Egypt and players need acute eyes to find it. Each papyrus founded will give you a hint about where to gain a piece of treasure.
Because most puzzles are pictographically described, the player needs to have a little knowledge of English.
Most of these locations are not marked on the map, even if the view zooms from Senu. Each puzzle brings Bayek a lot of experience points and a variety of rare items, so it’s worth the time!
Assassin’s Creed Origins Tips
Turn On Subtitles
In this game, characters often speak a lot of Egyptian words in their English lines, therefore, you had better turn on subtitles to understand easier and complete quests without any difficulties.
The Photo Mode
You can activate photo mode by pressing L3 and R3 on your Xbox One or PS4 controller at the same time. If you’re a PC player, press F2 to use it.
After setting up your favorite picture, the image will be saved to the system and you can take a screenshot. Also, you can explore photos of other people on the world map to know what they are doing. Moreover, through the scene and details of photos that others checked in, you can uncover some interesting hidden secrets.
Gain One Or Two Levels Before Taking A Mission
You should not attempt high-level missions, because you’ll have enormous difficulty in defeating stronger enemies.
Don’t be hurried! Explore everything you can and do sidequests, you will level up fast enough to complete those missions easier. The game becomes more interesting when you have enough damage level to make instant-kill bow shots and sneaky assassinations.
Experience Level Escalating And Difficulty System
At the normal difficulty, you will feel tense when facing high-level enemies, but it seems too easy to deal with low-level enemies.
In my opinion, you should experience its difficulty and level escalating process to determine the right combination. There is the scaling system that will cause all low-level enemies to rise their level around yours. This makes the game more challenging and more attractive. At this point, you really want to play at the hard difficulty with an advanced level. In some encounters, you can still play better than usual.
Fortunately, you can switch between normal and hard difficulty anytime without penalty or reloading.
Pin Some Crafting Items You Want To Reach
Your gear menu has many items such as shield, weapon, and mount section. Also, you see a crafting slot at the bed of the screen with different upgrades. Your quiver needs wood to carry more arrows and your hidden blade needs two different metals to cause more damages. So you should remember to disassemble unnecessary weapons so that you can accumulate as much wood and metal as possible.
It’s convenient to pin some needed components on the home screen to know what you’re looking for. You should be cautious about everything because you could be carrying around a gold mine.
Keep An Eye On The Bar
With the level-up system and the advanced weapons provided, Assassin’s Creed Origins no longer supports the insta-kill system which allows you to kill enemies with an assassinate button.
You can check the enemy’s health when hovering your bow and arrow over an enemy noggin, from far enough away that they won’t detect you. If the health bar is all red, it takes one hit to kill the enemy. But if the enemy is extremely strong, one headshot could only take off half health.
It would be the same as your hidden blade and you will see a health bar below the ‘assassinate’ option.
Loot Everything
You should plunder everything: all enemy bases, structural blocks that you penetrated and tombs. You will often get a crafting item or some money from each container you steal. A vast majority of boundaries have at least one lootable and that gives you 200 Drachma.
Try Different Weapons To Choose The One You Like
Weapons in Assassin’s Creed Origins also have some improvements compared to those in previous Assassin’s Creed games.
In Assassin’s Creed Origins, you’ll find three types of gear: shields, bows, and melee weapons. The gear’s rarity is reflected in its color: blue is regular, purple is rare and yellow is legendary.
- Shields are used to resist attack forces. Types of shield have similar usages.
- There are four types of bow in Assassin’s Creed Origins with different functions: Hunter bow, Warrior bow, Light bow, Predator bow.
- With melee weapons, you should remember that slow weapons bring greater damages than fast weapons do.
Melee weapons include the following types: Regular sword, Dual sword, Sickle sword, Heavy blunt, Heavy blade, Spear, Scepter.
They are enjoyable options of swords and shields for you to experiment until finding out which one fits your style the most.
Using Bows In Combat
Bayek can speedily pull out his bow in a fight and knock out one or two enemies.
A headshot can take down your opponent faster in a melee combat. Moreover, arrows are also useful against bosses.
According to your purpose, you can choose one of four bow types in Assassin’s Creed Origins including: Hunter bow, Warrior bow, Light bow, Predator bow.
Stay Off High-level Enemies
When you start playing this game, it is dangerous to face high-level enemies at first. If you fight a group of high-level enemies, you will be soon defeated.
Remember To Upgrade Your Weapons And Armor
You can upgrade your weapons and your armor at blacksmiths.
Dismantle Gears
If you have more than two items of the same type, you should dismantle the weaker one. Gradually, you will accumulate enough crafting items to upgrade your items such as armor, quiver and hidden blade, bracer, which help you save time for hunting.
Remember To Sell Your “Extra Items” At Blacksmiths
Remember to sell your “extra items” at a metalworker. To sell all your items to a metalworker, you can press the D-pad on PS4 or Xbox One controller.
Hunting Instead Of Purchasing Crafting Materials
Sometimes you can purchase manufactured materials from suppliers, but it is not worth it. Hunting with Senu is to detect the “high value” animals transporting the materials you need, instead. The four skeletons will cost you 360 Drachma. It takes you approximately 30 seconds to grab four pelicans from a lion.
Discover Every Mausoleum, Collect All The Silica And Stones
Each mausoleum in Giza has some puzzles. When you explore them, you’ll spot gleaming silica pieces to collect.
Remember that there are two main missions, Bayek’s Promise and Phylake’s Prey, requiring you to do all stone circles and defeat ten high-level enemies.
Find Water Or Roll On The Floor When You Are On Fire
Fire can cause death in Assassin’s Creed Origins. You will be burnt like a torch by oil jars and blazing arrows.
But, you can avoid death by jumping into the water. If there is no water near you, lift your shield and go into a combat stance, then start evading and rolling.
Send Senu, Your Eagle, Into The Sky To Seek For Everything

Senu eagle is not only a pet but also a requisite companion of the player. When activating Senu, we will switch to the view on top (from above), helping players to easily spot the most comprehensive area around us within a certain radius.
You can mark enemies, check paths and send Senus to despoil people while you gradually reach your targets. She also provides a great portable viewpoint helping you significantly when you get lost.
When flying around as Senu, you should usually make Senu do a barrel roll when flying around by spinning the left thumbstick.
