1. What Is The Witcher 3 About?

For those who haven’t know, this game is the third and final version featuring the witcher Geralt of Rivia. It was initially planned to release in late 2014, and for some reasons, CD Projekt RED had pushed it back to 24 February 2015, and yet, gamers must wait until 19 May 2015 to get their hands on the game.
However, all that waiting was worth it, The Witcher 3 had proven to be a huge success when it had sold over 4 million copies during the first two weeks. The game takes place in an open-world realm with tons of interesting stuff to discover. You can experience the same freedom and liberty that most of us find when playing Skyrim.
It’s a torn world, the air is filled with smoke and blood while evils slowly emerge. With the Northern Kingdoms being ravaging by the Empire of Nilfgaard and tension rising between men, no place in this world is safe. In these moments, there only one who can save the world. And you already know who it is.
2. The Witcher 3 Game Concepts

Alchemy
In The Witcher 3, players can study alchemy to create powerful potions that would give them decisive advantages during battles and combats. Using herbs, monster parts, along with other specific ingredients, you can create bombs, oils, and medicines.
Character Progression
Unlike most other RPGs when players are given a certain number of points to add on their stats, leveling up in The Witcher 3 will allow gamers to wear higher-tier items. Therefore, power up your characters. You will also receive skill points that can be used to upgrade certain skills.
Main Quests
Like other games, you will have to follow the main quests in order to complete the game. However, players are also able to make their own choices in different scenarios, thus, changing the course of the game. Depending on your decisions, you can unlock many endings. And along with the main quests, there are also the secondary quests, treasure hunt quests, and contracts, from which you can earn valuable prizes.
Romance
One of the factors that make this game so addictive is Geralt’s twisted love stories. Some of them are Geralt’s true soulmates (Yenefer, Triss) while others are woohoo partners (Keira Metz, Shani, Syanna). Remember you can only have your romance ending with Yenefer or Triss, any attempts for getting both of them will fail “miserably”.
3. The Witcher 3’s Acts
The game consists of a huge quest system involving not only the main quests but also side quests that you can either ignore or complete depending on your preferences. The main quests can be organized into one prologue and three acts with each acts consisting dozens of missions.
Prologue
You will learn to get used to the control system and the game’s mechanic during the first stages of the game. Moreover, a few main characters will also be introduced, such as Geralt, Siri, Yesemir, etc.
Act 1: In Ciri’s Footsteps
Emhyr var Emreis, the Imperator of the Nilfgaardian Empire, has been searching for his daughter for a very long time. Reports have shown that Ciri is in the war-ravaged region of Velen, but none are confirmed.
During his journey, Geralt has encountered an individual named “Uma”, who had been her recent companion. Unfortunately, he is currently under some kind of spell and is unable to communicate with Geralt.
Act 2: Uma’s Curse

Geralt is on his way to lift the curse from Uma, and upon his retrieval, Uma says that he had teleported Ciri to the Isle of Mists in order to protect her. The adventure continues with the involvement of Geralt, Yenefer, Triss, and Vesemir.
Act 3: Wild Hunt
As the game is coming to an end, our main boss is slowly revealed as White Frost. And Ciri, surprisingly, is having something to do with it.
The game ending is varied depending on Geralt’s decisions during the game. You can easily earn certain endings by following simple steps.
4. How Fun is The Witcher 3?

Huge Open-World Environment
For those who love scavenging around doing cool (sometimes weird) stuff, or collecting valuable items in a gigantic map, The Witcher 3 is a must-play title. From random slaying monsters to bullying chickens, you can do everything in this game.
Addictive Storyline
With a huge collection of quests, you won’t be short on things to do in The Witcher 3. The estimated time to finish the main quests are over 100 hours, and not to mention there are many endings as well as side quests.
Awesome Mechanics
We find the combat system and character progression relatively new and interesting since they bring many new things compared to old RPG titles. You will find battles in The Witcher 3 quite intensive and engaging as players must calculate their every move.
Stunning Graphics
Even now, the game is still considered a heavy title due to its extremely demanding of hardware. But once you’re meet that requirements, everything will be worth it. The Witcher 3 deliver gorgeous characters with realistic facial expressions, not to mention the beautiful sceneries from the gigantic open-world map.
5. Quick Tip: Don’t Mess with the Cows
Remember in Zelda games where you will be attacked by a group of chickens if you hurt any chicken? Well, in The Witcher 3, a giant Minotaur monster will jump up and punch you once you kill too much cow. So remember not to mess with it.
